Ms Loretta Lynn...

The Queen of Country Music... Ms Loretta Lynn....
I know you all have been waiting for it, so here it is. I saw Loretta Lynn Saturday night at Robinson. My parents got me a ticket for my birthday and I took Mike with me. He was not as excited as I was, but he was a good sport.

I have loved Loretta for a while. From the very first time I ever watched "Coal Miner's Daughter", I fell in love! She was young and her husband saw in her a talent and took her out to a honkey tonk and from there she was a success! It amazes me that she got to where she did from where she started. I know, she is an older lady now, and the concert was probably by most standards just "okay", but I will tell you this, she sang as wonderful as I knew she would. She came on stage in a red gown with sparkles and the lights and the cameras hit her and it was the most amazing thing I had ever seen. In that moments one of my dreams was realized. I saw her live, in person and I am so glad I got to! Thanks Dad and Mom for the opportunity! If I never see another concert, my life has been lived!

I am Thankful...

I am thankful for toys in the floor, it means I have kids here to play with them. I am thankful for glasses in the sink, it means we have drinks to fill them with. I am thankful for laundry, it means I have warm clothes for my family to wear. I am thankful for wet bathroom floors, it means the shower was on and we are clean. I am thankful for bills to pay, it means my home is here and we have all the things we need. I am thankful for my husband's job, it means I am home with my kids and he is providing for us. I am thankful for dirty dishes, it means there was once food on them.

I am learning that life is all in how you look at things. It isn't about a spotless house, it is about the people that live there. It isn't about the laundry, it is the people who wear those clothes. I am not a great decorater, I don't clean exceptionally well, I try and we make it. I am a pretty good cook, my kids and husband eat it, so I guess I am doing alright. But at the end of the day, my kids kiss me goodnight, I go to sleep beside my best friend and tomorrow, I GET to do it all again, and you know what? I am thankful!
