Mike had an engagement after work, and we had the carpets cleaned today, so enlight of wet floors and daddy with plans, I opted for dinner out. We started at Chuck E Cheese, just to play some games and burn some energy. The boys were great and enjoyed themselves. So we headed to Mike's store to say hello and good night, since they would be in the bed when he got home. In the car the boys voted for I-HOP, one of my favorites as well, so off we went. May I tell you, I haven't enjoyed dinner like that in a long time. We talked and laughed, yes with my 5 year old and 3 year old. They told me about the day and all the things they did with Aunt Sharon and the other kids. They were a little loud at times, not misbehaving loud, just boys talking to mommy loud, but they obeyed and they ate their pancakes and eggs like big boys.
Then it hit me, I have big boys.... I saw a mom across the way holding a newborn and for a moment I longed to be that mom once again. The smell of baby lotion and the softness of skin. Only for a moment... Then I realized, I am at a different place. We smell of baseball dust and sweaty crocs. But at the end of the day, I still put my precious angels to bed and kiss them goodnight and thank my Lord that he has given us one more of these most precious, undeserved days. I guess I sometimes miss the days of babies, but I love the days of boys. We have lots of great memories behind us, but oh the ones that lay ahead. It's just simple moments....

Home...
We have been on vacation. We had a wonderful time and the boys loved the beach. Here are a couple of pictures from our travels. I am sure Mike will update later as well. It was really his week off, he just lets us tag along! Really, the time together was amazing and the weather was great the whole week. I am glad to be home though, nothing quite like it. Be Blessed...

The Class of 2020...
Thursday, May 15, 2008
I love that at 3 each day my house starts to sound lived in again. Will is in school all day and Alex plays quietly to himself for most of the day. Today Mike is sick, so we have been trying to be extra quiet, but when Will comes home the house lives! Alex becomes more playful, he always is, but something about that big brother... Will talks about his school day and we remember what it was like to be little again. I love that the boys remind me of that daily, just remembering to be like a child.
We are making around here. I went for my check up today from surgery. The doctor says I am healing well and can stop taking my blood pressure medicine. I go back in a month to check on that and we are praying that it will be normal for me. Mike did a great job taking care of me and the boys while I was down for a couple of days recovering. He was a great nurse and housekeeper. The time was good for him and the kids. He is sick today, some kind of stomach thing. Hopefully it will pass quickly. I hate it when he is sick and I know he doesn't care for it either. Just thought I would update. Be Blessed this week, be child like when you can. It is LOTS of fun.

Rambles...
I am amzed at how quickly a day can get away from you. Seems like an hour ago it was 6:30am.
Today was opening day of Will's baseball season. He was so excited he could hardly see straight! I was equally as excited. I love seeing him play baseball. No matter what the outcome of the game, he has a great time playing and I have a great time watching! He was ready to get in his uniform as soon as school was out. He is so full of life, he reminds me daily to slow down and take it all in.
Alex got to watch him play, really he just wanted to play in the dirt. So with Cousin Sarah by his side, he played until you couldn't see him for the dirt! So much fun. He laughed and played, he reminds me to get dirty every once in awhile, it will wash.
I am in the midst of finding "me". Whoever that is suppose to be. Today I was Will's mom. Keeper of the baseball cleats, maker of lunches, and giver of hugs. Oh how I love to be that person. Today I was Alex's mom. Washer of faces, giver of kisses, and hot-dog maker. I tucked them in bed. Alex needs a kiss, a "five" and a hug. On my way out, "Hey, Mama!", Yes, Alex, "I "lub" you!" "I love you too Alex, to the moon and back."
May you find who you are this week. I have a feeling we have lots to find!
Be Blessed...
